Caught in the System

First and foremost, if we as messengers of freedom haven’t made it clear in the past, we love you and are praying for you.

Our passion comes from our calling, and if we hate anything, it’s the system, not those caught in her deception. It wasn’t that long ago that we too were caught in her web of deceit, lies, and pride. It is only by the grace of God that we found the strength to break free. Even today, many if not most of us, still deal with the residue of the system that clings to the old man in us.

Like the mailman who continues to bring you the past due notices, we will not stop delivering our message because we are now under the true and only Head of the Church the Lord Jesus Christ. We know all too well, the high price and the heavy cost of serving the system. It is our heartfelt desire to help you hear the still small voice of God. We want to support and encourage you as you consider the things the Holy Spirit is beginning to show you.

To all those Caught in the System

Some we speak to respond to us like a deer caught in the headlights. These have absolutely no idea what we are talking about when we talk about freedom from the system and not serving the institution. They don’t understand that we love Jesus, and more than anything, we want to be the church. These people have inadvertently become slaves to the religious system, and now they are unaware of the trap they are in. As slaves, there will come a time in their lives when they are too old to be sold at market price, and they will blame others for their fate. Many will never recognize they served man in a worldly system, never having reached their real goal: to serve the real King in the real Church.

Others of you know that we are speaking the truth, but, like a day trader in a market that has swung in the opposite direction, you are now too deeply invested to get out. We know you have a sincere call from the Lord. You have paid a great price to get where you are. But, as you progressed in your calling/career, you learned to dance to the tune of the religious system. Now the Lord has begun to speak to you with fresh revelation. Are you having a hard time performing for the system Sunday after Sunday? Do you hear the Lord calling you to walk away while so many things are holding you back – keeping you from total obedience?

Things like:

  1. The house payment, car payment, children’s school and medical bills that must be paid.
  2. Never having done any other job, all you now know is to do “ministry” for a check.
  3. Having your sense of self-esteem wrapped up in your title and the accolades given to you each Sunday for being a good preacher.
  4. Your need to be needed. Has the system convinced you that you are the people’s messiah? Could your people be “Christians” without you?
  5. Losing friends and peers if you leave the system. You know it’s as inevitable as the pull of gravity and you aren’t sure you can handle this loss. (We all like to be liked.)
  6. Fear of the unknown. Does the idea of not being in control of your future terrify you?

Know this: the Lord loves you too much to leave you in your mess. The Lord will have His church back! And right now He is lining things up to set her free. This won’t be a pretty picture for the religious system or those in it, but God will bring about an effective release of His church.

For the record, those of us who are sounding the alarm and bringing this message are not ‘wounded and hurt’. Nor are we people who ‘refuse to submit’ to authority. We know life is short, and we have all served the system and its taskmasters for too long. Like you, we have found it more and more difficult to fully and properly function within today’s religious system. Since the system clearly misrepresents the King’s church, we have chosen to abandon the system in search of our freedom in Him.

For some reason God called us to be Pioneers and Forerunners. We know the church doesn’t understand us, but we are willing to pay that price to clear a path for others to follow. It is our duty to do our best to mark the trail, but we know that for almost 1800 years the Way has been lost to the system.

The transition is underway, and we are all a work in progress. It’s been said “the ship is being built while at sea.” We know our actions and our words may have brought confusion and misunderstanding about the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives. So please forgive our brashness when we haven’t responded to you consistently with the nature of Christ. We are maturing as the Lord builds His true apostolic and prophetic foundations for the New Jerusalem His Bride. We are learning to love as our Father has loved us, and we are learning patience in the midst of the fire.

Because we know the King is seated on His throne, we have the greatest hope knowing He will build His Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against her. Like the selling of indulgences, the merchandizing of God’s people is even now coming down like a house of cards. In the midst of great darkness, His people will shine as stars in the sky. How long you ask? Two years ago the Lord said we would not recognize the church in five years. There are three years left.

May God grant you wisdom and grace as you let go of the straw of the system to cling to the gold of His Kingdom.
