Who will not be in your Easter Service

Easter

Those who will not be in your Easter service still believe in a loving God. They pray and hope just like you do but they have had it with what calls itself the Church today.

The Lord woke me up this morning with a heavy heart as He shared with me the different types of people who would not darken the doors of the church on Easter morning. I asked the Lord if this message was for me because I didn’t want to sound like a smart&ss who hates the church. He said write it, so here it is.

First let me tell you that I weep not for those who will not attend the church on Easter but for all those who will. The church doesn’t look much like Jesus anymore. I know I was there with all the special decorations, music, egg hunts and resurrection sermon. The church is so busy feeling good & holy about herself that she has forgotten that the first carrier of the gospel was an ex-prostitute female. We have lost touch with the world the Lord Jesus wants to give freedom and life to.

Let’s look at some of the people, the Father’s heart breaks for every day. They will not attend your Sunday service.

  1. Those that know that fancy Easter clothes and hats won’t cover the shame and the sin they are living in. They know God sees all and the church is full of hypocrites. They refuse to be hypocrites.

  1. All those tent people you have been scoffing at and you so disdain. They know you won’t accept them. Their only hope on Easter morning is that you will leave plenty of leftover food on your plate at the restaurants, so they can dumpster-dive later to feed themselves or their families.

  1. Those that feel rejection in the eyes of the church. You know who I am talking about. The pregnant teenager or that young girl with a bastard child and no husband. What about all those women who feel the need to be loved and instead end up divorced and alone like a dirty dish rag. How about the men who everyone knows just got out of prison. They have never felt accepted in “the house of God.”

  1. The people who live in bitterness and unforgiveness from church hurt. Some things said and done to people in a church meeting make forever scars in the hearts of people our Lord died for. They have lost trust in the religious system and I don’t blame them.

  1. Those that live hand to mouth. They can’t stand to be embarrassed publicly when the preacher calls for a tithe, and they haven’t a penny to give. It happens every Sunday, why suffer through that on Easter? So, they are told that if they had faith to give, they would be blessed. They did that and nothing happened except the pastor got a new car.

  1. The rich and famous don’t go to Easter services. They don’t need anything from God. The church people have made them celebrities, and they believe in their own hype. The church people want what they have so why should they slum with their fans? You won’t see them at Easter.

  1. Those that fear our religious doctrines and dogmas. This is what they say. If we are going to hell, why go to Easter services? So, Jesus was resurrected out of the tomb, but why do we feel like we have been forever cursed to live in the darkness? Judgement is everywhere and love is nowhere. I thought the Lord Jesus said he came for the sick. Why do I leave the church feeling like the Bible was written to judge me? We have alienated the world and they will not be attending our Easter services.

How have we the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ moved so far away from the loving heart of the Father? Proof is that even on Easter Sunday when we will be counting heads to compete with the other congregations in the city, many pews and seats will still be empty.

So you claim there is a falling away and you and all the holy will soon be raptured. You just keep believing that and making excuses for the entire generations we are losing. Yes, even your own children raised in church now don’t want anything to do with your religion. It should make you think. Weren’t people attracted to the Lord when He walked the earth? What are we doing wrong? I am afraid it has nothing to do with doing. It has to do with our hearts. We no longer carry the fragrance of Christ but our instead we reek of judgment and scorn.

God have mercy on us!

Much love

Jose L Bosque
