Which Bible is the Word of God?

Which Bible is the Word of God? I think it is a fair question to ask nowadays. This article comes from years of discussion and interaction with believers all over the world on Facebook and other social media networks. Daily, I see the Body of Christ crippled by its doctrinal stance, yet at the same time, proudly waving their chosen bible verses to defend their position.

I am not a theologian. I only want to see the Church the Lord Jesus Christ is building grow up into the fullness of the stature of the man Christ Jesus. In simple terms, grow up and become what the Lord wants her to be. The Body of Christ is missing the mark by not living out before a hurting world what is the true nature and ways of the Lord.

For hundreds of years the Religious System has cranked out local church members ready to fight their brothers at the drop of a hat to protect their biblical stance. The modern church today is made up of people who can fire bible verses out like a Gatling gun, but have little or no personal revelation of Christ. Meanwhile, all of this is done in the name of Jesus, the only true God, whom they do not personally know. So, here is my question.

Which Bible is the Word of God?

  1. Is it the bible that the Catholics use to teach the 7 levels of purgatory?
  2. Is it the bible that Baptist use to teach the Rapture?
  3. Is it the Bible that the Assemblies of God use to teach their doctrine of Hell?
  4. Is it the Bible that Episcopalians use to Baptize babies?
  5. Is it the Bible the Mega Churches use to build their spectator arenas?
  6. Is it the Bible the House Church Movement uses to only meet in houses?
  7. Was it the Bible that was used to create the clergy – laity division?
  8. Is it the Bible that has leaders chasing the titles of Apostle & Bishop?
  9. Is it the Bible that is used to misrepresent Christ to homosexuals?
  10. Was it the Bible that was used to create seminaries to control thought?
  11. Is it the Bible that is used to condone and cover up pedophilia?
  12. Finally, is it the Bible that condones slavery, wars and church splits?

As you can see, I could go on and on, but I believe you get my point. “Houston, we have a problem. Am I a Bible hater! NO, I am a servant of the Lord crying out for the Body of Christ to put HIM first.

The Church has moved the Bible, along with all the mistranslations and misinterpretation of men into a place alongside the Godhead. When the Lord left the earth, He did not say I will send you a Bible in my place. Yet today that is what we have, and that is why we do not know how to hear His voice by way of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God has become the Bible, and this would be fine if:

  1. We had the original texts.
  2. We could all speak Koinonia Greek.
  3. We could return to a 1st Century worldview.
  4. We didn’t make Bible teachers into celebrities and take their words as fact.
  5. We didn’t all have a filter made up of years of men’s traditions and rituals.
  6. We all were experienced at hearing His voice personally and corporately.
  7. We were all really born from above in the congregation.

The Bible says that the words were “God breathed” when they were written, but without the help of the Holy Spirit today, that is where the purity ended. I don’t care if someone printed the word “Holy” on its cover, and if someone said it was the Authorized Version. In the end, without the Holy Spirit cracking through the seven issues above, all we have is a book to argue over. We need to learn to hear the Word of God for ourselves.

Here is the Meme I wrote and here is the comment I wrote under it:

Word of God

“It is estimated that 97% of people in the first century could not read or write. The common man was not given education until the 1800’s. Few could afford even the materials to write or copy the letters. We have a real difficult time keeping our worldview out of the realities in which the First disciples lived. “In circulation” probably meant heard it read once or twice a year if the cities were near. Point here is Christianity depended on each member of the Body hearing God for themselves and as the Body of Christ, not books, Bibles, CD’s, Social Media, Radio, TV and weekly sermons. Believers are glutted with information today but show very little sign of practical Church life “Koinonia.”

The Lord knew all these things, so this is what He said just before He left.

John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. NKJV

He left us Himself only now living in the heart of every believer. The Word of God is a Person not a book. Christ is our Logos and our Rhema. The Lord Himself is our only Truth. To know Him and to know His voice is to know Truth. The Holy Spirit will lead us to Christ if we learn to hear His Voice as the Word of God.

I am not advocating you stop reading the Bible. I am advocating you learn to hear His voice personally and corporately when you read the Bible. I am saying quit depending on men to tell you what the Bible says. I am saying His Church began without bibles and believers must learn to hear the Word of God without it again.

In every one of the bibles described in my 12 choices above, there is one verse that can adjust us corporately as the Body of Christ into right focus.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son. NKJV

If Christians today were taken to the Son instead of to a church building or a Pastor, there would be more transformation of society and less pastor burnout.

Every Religious System church and organization claims to preach Christ. They all advocate the centrality of Christ in word, but in deed He is just a label on a man’s program. This must change. We do not need to pray to have God bless our ideas, events, and programs. We need to do only what we see the Father doing.

We, as the Body of Christ, must return to Christ. This is a personal work that only the Lord can do in His Mercy. We are blind to our condition. Some of us have been spiritually sick so long we don’t know what healthy feels like. Some have never seen anything else, so like a horse with blinders, they can only go in the direction that their tradition leads them. Still others are so financially dependent on the current religious system for their needs that they’re totally invested and can’t think differently even if they wanted to. We need the Lord’s help at this time so we may be able to discern the Word of God (Christ) in our lives.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. KJV

May the Lord help you to hear the Word of God. May your ears be fine tuned to His every word. May you grow as you rest on his bosom listening to the heartbeat of God.

Much Love,

Jose L. Bosque

  1. Wow, good article. I think you hit the nail on the head with the comment about going on in the traditions we have been taught. It seems so many of us have stopped thinking for ourselves and depend on another human being to give us all the answers. We need to remember that Jesus is the living word and the Spirit of Jesus lives within us. It is not the Father, Son and Holy Bible. Without the guidance of the Spirit the bible is just a book about other peoples view of God. Yet the Holy Spirit can bring to life the words we read and can guide and teach us through his still, small voice from within.

  2. I disagree… If it were not for the bible, how would we know what about Jesus and our faith. There may be different versions, but they all say the same thing… if you know this and study it you will understand that and you will learn so much more. “In the Old Testament God verbally spoke” But in the last days, God speaks through His word… and that Word is his son Jesus, and his words are written in the Bible.
I learned more about my faith in 3 months in bible study, than I did my whole life… I was 43 at that time, I am not 72.

    • Hi Donna
My 1st recommendation is that you actually read the artcle. You will realize we dont have problems with the bible having Gods words when understood by the Spirit. We have a problem with people like yourself who dont know the God of the Word unless it comes by reading a bible.
      Much love.
